1. Cancellations

Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer your booking to another date at the time of the cancellation, the following charges will apply:

  • More than four weeks prior to the course start date – no charge
  • Two to four weeks prior to the course – 50% of the course fee
  • Less than two weeks prior to the course – full fee.

Cancellations must be made in writing by email and received by the due date.

If cancelling due to illness/injury and you cannot transfer onto another course, a refund can be given as long as you have appropriate documentation for exampe a doctors note.

2. Non-attendance

If you do not attend a course, and you have not previously informed us, the full course fee remains payable.

3. Late arrivals/ missed sessions

If you arrive late for a course or absent from any session, the trainer reserves the right to refuse to accept you for training if they feel you will gain insufficient knowledge or skills in the time remaining. In all such cases, the full course fee remains payable. To conform with the qualification requirements for statutory certificates, attendance at all sessions is mandatory and you must attend a minmum amount of hours training.

4. Referred assessment

Please be aware the NPLQ qualfication is externally assessed. You won't be put forward for assessment if the trainer doesn't feel you are capable of passing the assessment. All 3 sections need to be assessed and passed in order to gain the qualification. If you are referred on one section, you need to be re-assessed on that whole section again. We can organise this for you and will cost £40. This is to cover the cost of another assessor and assessment form.

The first aid courses are trainer assessed and are not done externally, you may be referred if you cannot show a competent level of understanding in order to achieve the qualification. If this is the case you will be referred and further training will need to take place, this may be at an additional cost.

5. Certification

Certificates are provided for successful completion of each course.
Certificates are dispatched by the governing body of the qualification you have undertaken. Certificates can take up to 8 weeks to arrive, if after 8 weeks you have not received your certificate then please contact Sarah Game Training.

Please keep certificates in a safe place. SG Training does not have access to these to re-print. They can be re-printed via the governing body but this will be at an extra charge to you.

6. Unforeseen circumstances

On occasions, unforeseen circumstances may require us to cancel a course. In these circumstance you will be given as much notice as possible and either a free transfer to another course date or a full refund of fees paid, whichever you prefer.

7. Phyical aspects of the course

Please be aware for both the lifeguard and first aid courses you will be required to be involved with physical elements. For example, for the first aid courses, you will need to be able to get down onto the floor to perform CPR on a manikin and act as a casualty on the floor for other candidates and for the lifegaurd courses you will need to be able to do the following before enrolling onto a course:

Jump or dive into deep water
Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
Tread water for 30 seconds
Surface dive to the floor of the pool
Climb out unaided without ladder or steps

All candidates booking onto a course are confiming the above, if you enrol onto a course and are referred beause you cannot achieve the pre-course requisites, no refund will be given.

8. Other

  • For lifeguard courses, due to the nature of the job, a good level of hearing and vision are required. By signing onto the course you are agreeing you have a good level of hearing and vision.
  • All candidates must be a mininum age of 16. Photo ID must be shown at the start of the course.

9. Language

All courses are taught in English so a good understanding of the language is required.

10. Bullying/distuptive behaviour

SG Training does not tolerare any bullying or distruptive behaviour on any course, failure to comply with this means you will be asked to leave the course, with no refund given.
